A Valuable Anti Bullying Resource
"The Big Picture:" a unique educational DVD by leading disability TIE
Company was launched November 2004. "The Big Picture" includes a film
version of "Face2Face" a hard-hitting theatre production dealing with
bullying that bridges the gap between entertainment and education. It is a
gripping drama that is intended as a discussion opener.
Whilst not pretending to have all the answers "Face2Face the Movie"
challenges audiences to think about why bullying starts, how the victim
feels, what sort of support should be available, how other people get
involved and what other options are open to the victim to break the cycle.
Jigsaw was founded by and for disabled people in 1987 and has developed and
toured productions to theatres and schools ever since.
We try to work with subjects that are relevant to everyone but that have a
particular resonance to us. We decided to look at bullying because several
of our actors had been or are being bullied, sometimes because of their
disability but more often for the same reasons that bullying happens to
everyone.
As a company of disabled people Jigsaw has done it's utmost to make the DVD
accessible to differing audiences by including subtitles, BSL interpretation
and audio description as integral parts.
